That depends on the construction, remaining sandable wood, past sanding, and damage. Solid wood is often a candidate; engineered floors need an individual assessment. Laminate and luxury vinyl are not sanded like wood.
Do I need full sanding or a maintenance coat?
A screen and recoat refreshes an eligible existing finish. It does not remove deep damage or change the stain color. Full sanding removes the old finish and allows more extensive renewal. Read our recoating guide.
